The Department of Pediatrics at the Univ of IL College of Medicine Peoria, located in a mid-size metropolitan area, is seeking a full-time Research Assistant Professor to assist the department with the following responsibilities:
- Under direction and supervision, provide University service by assisting faculty, residents, and medical students design experiments, conduct statistical analyses, and assist with the statistical portion of manuscript preparation.
- Mentor students, residents, and faculty in study design and high-quality research practices.
- Utilize specialized knowledge of biostatistics to participate in special projects related to machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Prepare detailed analysis plans and descriptions for analyses and findings for research protocols and reports, and assist in the design of research studies in collaboration with Pediatricians and other researchers.
- Provide biostatistical advice to colleagues, review clinical research protocols, and recommend appropriate statistical analyses when appropriate.
- Conduct teaching of statistical methods in various educational sessions.
- Perform other related duties and University service as assigned.
No travel is required for this position. This position minimally requires a Ph.D. degree or its foreign equivalent in Biostatistics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, or related field of study.
