Last week, Peoria MedPeds and @uicompeoriapeds residents joined medical students from @uicompeoria , SIU, and ATSU at "Diabetes Camp." As cabin clinicians, they helped to navigate the highs and lows with the campers -- and gained insight on living with #type1diabetes -- even if only for a week. Around 100 campers got to be "just kids at camp" with this opportunity. It truly is a collaborative experience -- with nurses, nursing students, dieticians, and dietetic interns joining camp directors and camp counselors to provide a safe environment for these kids.

It's been an exciting two weeks for the Peoria MedPeds (+friends) softball team, Commotio Cordis. Last week--was like an unexpected platinum weekend--a victory long in the making with 12 runs!

This week, while the team ultimately lost to our competitors, they put 7 big ones on the scoreboard--three of which were by Dr. Utz herself! And, Dr. Munk's glove stayed on during another amazing outfield catch!
