Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

The Peoria Med-Peds residency program condemns racism in all forms, and we recognize the impact that structural racism continues to have on our trainees, medical students, fellow health care workers, and our patients. We affirm our pledge to speak up, educate with a purpose, and act with intention to be a force for positive change, with the goal of uprooting and dismantling the factors that perpetuate racism in our health care system. We will not be silent, and we add our voice, our actions, and our support for our colleagues, our trainees, our fellow health care workers and our patients of color nationwide and here at UICOMP, in our community and in our workplace. We actively embrace and seek to foster a diverse and inclusive community. We recognize that diversity is essential to a healthy, productive, and highly functioning workplace and learning environment. We recognize that it is through diversity that we produce the best possible patient outcomes, and as well as the most well rounded Med-Peds physicians ready to serve any population at graduation. We believe we can truly be the force for the change we want and need to see.
