Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology Rotations

Our ESIR residents will complete a total of 13 IR rotations during their PGY2–4 years. All of these rotations are staffed by IR faculty. A conservative estimate of the total volume of IR procedures that each ESIR resident will perform is 1,000 – 1,200 procedures of all types.

All rotations are at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Please note that IR service also does all image-guided biopsies, drainages, ablations, MRAs + CTAs of abdomen, pelvis, and lower extremities and staffs the noninvasive vascular ultrasound section (NIVS). Other than the ICU rotation, our program does not have Interventional Radiology-related rotations during the PGY2 – 5 years.
