Where You’ll Train
Approximately 22,000 screening cases are evaluated and 9,000 diagnostic studies are performed each year at the OSF Saint Francis Center for Breast Health. In addition, over 2,500 interventional procedures as well as 6,000 breast ultrasound examinations, over 450 breast MRI exams and over 150 MR-guided core biopsies are performed each year.
The fellowship is through the University of Illinois College of Medicine, the OSF Saint Francis Center for Breast Health, and OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center, a 600+ bed Level I Trauma Center. It is staffed by five Breast Imaging Radiologists and a dedicated group of technologists and clerical staff. Additionally, there are three dedicated Nurse Navigators and a genetics specialist who runs the High Risk Assessment Program. We provide individualized breast care and imaging according to women’s risk factors, tissue density, and anxiety level to include breast MRI and complete breast ultrasound. Our department works seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team of breast specialists including breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, reconstructive surgeons, and other support services to provide optimal care for our breast cancer patients.
