Family Medicine Residency

About

I grew up in Los Angeles, California and completed my undergraduate degree at University of California, Berkeley. After working as a scribe for two years after college, I attended medical school at Des Moines University. Transitioning to the Midwest life was certainly different as a lifetime Californian, but I quickly grew to love the “flyover states” and feel that this area of the country is where I truly belong. In medical school, I was lucky enough to meet my soon to be husband who is now pursuing Radiology residency here at UICOMP as well. We are so grateful to be going through the experience of residency at the same time and location!

I chose family medicine because of the versatility and ability to serve as an advocate for my patients. I am especially interested in preventive medicine and am excited to treat patients from all walks of life. I am very grateful to have matched at UICOMP, where it is exceedingly clear that the faculty and residents are supportive and enthusiastic about the work they do, and every aspect of family medicine is emphasized equally.

Outside of medicine, I spend most of my free time working out in the gym or outside or relaxing with my husband and daughter at home. I love browsing/ordering things on Amazon, cooking and finding new recipes as well as trying new restaurants and breweries!
