Family Medicine Residency

About

I was born and raised in Nigeria; moved to the US, where Maryland is now home. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I began my medical school journey at St James School of Medicine in Anguilla and received my medical degree from Caribbean Medical University. While in medical school, I completed my master’s in health administration (MHA).

I am interested in family medicine because of its versatility and the continuity of care, which puts family doctors at the center of patients’ care. My clinical interests are preventative medicine, OB/GYN, and Women’s health. I chose UICOMP family medicine residency program because it caters to my interests, which I believe would provide me with quality training, and help me become a well-rounded family doctor. Also, this program is so welcoming, and dedicated to residents’ wellness; everyone here has been very supportive. I’m so thrilled to be a part of this program, and to call this place home.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy family time with my husband, Joshua and our girls – Joyce & Joanna. I love taking long hour road trips (if I’m not the one driving). On a lazy night, I binge watch crime-based TV shows; my favorite right now is NCIS.
