Family Medicine Residency
About
I was born and raised in Tulsa, OK, and completed both my high school and undergraduate education within 10 miles from my birth home. My undergraduate education was completed at Oral Roberts University, where I studied Medical Molecular Biology with a minor in Psychology. Upon graduation, I left the bird’s nest of Oklahoma and spread my wings to Lynchburg, VA, where I completed my medical school training at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
My first exposure to Family Medicine came at a young age, as my mother is a FM physician. FM appealed to me because of the full-spectrum scope of practice and the freedom to tailor your practice to your interests. I also loved the continuity of care developed with patients. Ultimately, my interests in obstetrics, sports medicine, and missionary medicine were best fulfilled through the FM specialty.
I chose UICOMP because of their evident devotion to living out their mission statement: “Providing full spectrum care for the whole-person.” The faculty faithfully challenge the residents to grow in their practice while providing a safe environment for learning and specific feedback. Not only does this program well equip its residents to practice medicine in their desired capacities, but it also takes great care of its residents on a personal level.
Outside of medicine, you can find me supporting my favorite sports teams (the Pittsburgh Steelers, OKC Thunder, and Oral Roberts Golden Eagles), playing my favorite sports (basketball, disc golf, and pickleball), or playing board games on a rainy day with my wife.
