About
I am the Associate Fellowship Director of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. I also get to wear another exciting hat as the Medical Director for our Pediatric Sedation Department. I’m really passionate about simulation, curriculum development and making medical education more engaging — especially through immersive tech. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I got the chance to created interactive curricula using Virtual reality to teach pediatric sedation and help clinicians troubleshoot adverse events. I believe that gamification makes things fun and the retention improves so like to do this with my teaching.
Outside of work, I love to bike, traveling, and spending time with my two adorable kids and my wonderful husband. When I have a little more room in my schedule, you’ll find me sketching old buildings, watercolor painting, or doing some candle art — basically, diving into anything artsy.
Why I Love UICOMP/Peoria
Peoria is honestly one of the best-kept secrets when it comes to places to live and raise a family. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly affordable — with stunning scenery all around. One of my favorite things is how conveniently located it is near major metro areas, yet it still feels like a cozy, close-knit community.
What really makes it special, though, is the camaraderie within our program. The support, the teamwork — it truly makes living and working here so fulfilling. And the short, stress-free commute? That alone is a game-changer.
It’s one of those places you don’t quite believe until you experience it … but once you do, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere else.
