About
Dr. Na'Allah graduated from University of Ilorin, Nigeria (one of the Nation's WHO center for community based experience programs). She obtained her master’s in public health (MPH) from the University of Illinois at Springfield and completed residency at Southern Illinois University at Springfield. She did a maternal child health fellowship and hence practices high risk and surgical obstetrics. Obtaining an MPH and then choosing to be a family physician further enhanced her passion for serving and caring for the underserved and underprivileged.
Dr. Na’Allah joined the faculty in 2009 practicing full spectrum family medicine. Her research interest is in reducing unnecessary C-sections, decreasing sexually transmitted infections, and decreasing teenage pregnancy and health care disparity. She has presented and published regionally, nationally and internationally in these areas.
She has received numerous teaching and service awards including the 2017 Illinois Academy of Family Physicians- Physician of the Year, 25 Women in Leadership, Residency Faculty Teacher of the Year, Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine award, and Faculty Outstanding Service award.
She is the mother of four girls and truly enjoys being a part of her community and making a difference in the lives of those who are otherwise disenfranchised.
I love the collegiality among my peers, residents, and clinical staff; and the ability to do what I absolutely love the most – caring for people.
