About
I was born and raised in rural Oklahoma. I attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University where I participated in collegiate athletics and managed to obtain a BS in Biology. I went on to attended Oklahoma State University COM in Tulsa, OK.
My hobbies include more things than I can list but here are a few: running, cycling, hiking, 3D printing, serving in my church, technology. I chose med-peds due to the many opportunities afforded by such a specialty and my affinity for most things medicine. And of course, I couldn’t make up my mind. Isn’t that the case for most med/peds?? I just enjoyed it all.
Why I Chose Peoria
I chose Peoria for many different reasons. It has a large hospital and catchment area, a great children’s hospital that addresses advanced care needs, and the Jump Simulation center opportunities for medical innovation and skill refinement. All that being said, it was ultimately my interactions with the residents and the faculty on interview day that solidified my decision. Everyone was very personable and the residents felt supported by the faculty and it truly showed.
