About

Dr. Dominique Fons was born in Los Angeles but was raised in a south Chicago suburb. She attended Northern Illinois University where she earned her BS in Elementary Education. She taught middle school Math and Science for 8 years. It was through her Science Education Masters work from National-Louis University that she decided to pursue Medicine. She attended the University of Illinois in Chicago for medical school. Her residency training transplanted her to Milwaukee at the Medical College of Wisconsin Columbia St. Mary’s program. She completed the Behavioral Medicine Track and learned Osteopathic Principles and Manipulative Medicine during residency. Her desire to continue teaching led her to establish her medical practice in the Champaign-Urbana area from 2011-2017, where she worked at Carle Foundation Hospital Family Medicine Residency and was a clinical instructor for the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Her broad interests include: Mind-body medicine, OMM, office based counseling, Women’s Health and office-based procedures.

Dr. Fons has celebrated over 20 years of marriage to her husband, Brian. They have two children: Jolie and Amelie. Their family enjoys anything Harry Potter, Star Wars, movies, music, and videogames. Dr. Fons loves to read, sing, dance, garden and watch dramas.

The leadership in our program and institutions really empowers the welcoming and supportive atmosphere throughout all aspects of our program, from the faculty to the residents to the clinical and administrative staff. I love working here and being a part of something amazing!
