About
My love for women’s health began at a young age through the example of my grandfather Dr. Carl Mattioda who delivered over three generations of children in Streator, IL. I have a passion for serving the underserved, thus have been able to participate in many medical missions to Central and South America early in my career. I cared for women in the Peoria area for over 10 years in private practice. As I met my husband and we grew our family, my time has been spent closer to home. My husband and I both come from large families and grew up in small towns in Illinois. We have two wonderful children who love animals and thus have many pets. I was excited to join the team at UICOMP in academic medicine in 2023 where my passion for teaching continues to grow working with medical students and residents.
