We understand that the transition to residency is a time of tremendous personal growth. We empower residents to thrive both personally and professionally by cultivating a culture of camaraderie and support, and through wellness-promoting curriculum and activities.

Internal Medicine residents celebrate together

Program-wide social gatherings

  • Holiday party (protected time from clinical work where attendings cover resident responsibilities)
  • Golf outing (protected time)
  • Journal Club dinners
  • Other activities: Cricket match, pottery painting, bowling, axe throwing, hiking, fitness classes, potlucks, and more!

Wellness rotation

  • Two weeks per year for second- and third-year residents)
  • Flexible time for self-care
  • Participate in group wellness activities, check-in with a counselor, written reflection (“55-word story”), community engagement (Street Medicine, food pantry volunteering)

Residency Family

  • Participate in small support group of residents and faculty
