About

I’m from the streets of suburban Westminster, California. I grew up mostly splitting my time between swimming and school. My family owns a donut shop back home and I have a deep appreciation and passion for eating donuts. I also enjoy eating all different types of food and trying new foods whenever I can. When I am not eating, I like to hike, bike, run, ski when I can, and swim. Or just watch TV and movies for hours on end.

Why I Chose Peoria

I chose the University of Illinois-Peoria primarily because of the people. During my interview, I felt very welcomed by the faculty during interviews and Jo and Erin were super fun to hang out with in the waiting rooms. At the resident social, everybody was very friendly and genuinely seemed to like being around each other and get along well. There was a good turnout as well, so I felt like I got a good representation of the current residents despite the virtual nature of it all. Beyond the people, the medicine and pediatrics departments are both individually very strong and provide an incredible training experience to develop excellent clinicians. It was a program where I felt I would be surrounded by positive people, and receive the training I will need to provide high-quality care for patients in the future.
