About
I obtained my PhD from India in molecular and biochemical endocrinology and subsequently capped my degree with extensive post-doctoral research training at the Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. Due to my sincere interest in medical education, I obtained a Master’s degree in “Medical Education Leadership” from the University of New England in 2015.
My research interest lies in the “Elucidation of the multifactorial role of the ubiquitous molecule melatonin as a hormone, a component of the circadian system, and an autocrine/paracrine signaling factor in various organs/systems of the body.” I am also working on a very current research topic, “Internet addiction and its effects on medical education.”
As a dedicated Biochemistry faculty member, I relish the close interaction with students of years 1 and 2 in the integrated multi-campus MD curriculum of UICOM. I have deep respect for the mission of UICOM and am excited to be on the faculty team.
Fun facts about me: I am a musician with a BS in Indian classical music. I also have interest in cooking. If not an educator, I would have probably been a chef.
