Jenna Regan joined the Health Sciences Education & Pathology department at UICOMP in 2017. Within the Phase 1 curriculum at UICOMP, she teaches medical genetics and physiology topics and also serves as a faculty facilitator for the Anti-Racism Curriculum. Jenna's college-wide administrative roles include leadership of Block 5 (Digestion & Homeostasis II) and serving as co-chair of the Phase 1 Management Committee.
A native of Westfield, Indiana, Jenna earned a B.S. in Biochemistry at Bradley University while also competing as part of the Division I volleyball team. Jenna then earned a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following postdoctoral work at Washington University in St. Louis, Jenna worked as a Research Associate at Indiana University School of Medicine. Her bench research interests centered on the regulation of mesenchymal progenitor cells in the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems and characterization of the bone microenvironment and in settings of cancer metastasis.
Currently, Jenna is enjoying research collaborations with UICOMP colleagues and is working on expanding her own medical education research interests related to curriculum design and management across multiple institutional sites.
