About

I am an Academic Physician, teaching on the hospital Internal Medicine teaching service, the IM Resident Clinic (since 2011), and the University Consult and Procedure service. I have been actively involved in undergraduate medical student education, teaching courses in physical diagnosis and clinical problem-solving since 2012. With a background in Exercise Science, Kinesiology focused on biomechanics and motor learning, and with my Osteopathic training, I have a special interest in musculoskeletal physical diagnosis, teaching monthly physical exam sessions at the Resident Clinic.

I chose to stay in Peoria after my residency training for several reasons:

  • It's a large academic-focused medical community that cares for adult and pediatric patients from all around the region
  • The residency faculty are great to work with and share a common interest and goal to teach and train residents and students
  • The Dean of UICOMP and the Chair of Medicine are supportive of our efforts to improve ourselves as clinician educators
  • The importance of family is always supported
