About
Hey y'all! I'm David, one of the west coast transplants out here to the Midwest. I like to think of myself as very PNW and Washingtonian, even though I grew up closer to the Idaho panhandle than the Cascades. I'm into long hikes, birding, rainy days, and good coffee. Outside of medicine, I'm outdoorsy, a violin player, and an (aspiring) fish and plant dad. In medicine, my interest is primarily global health (including local global health!) and working with migrant populations.
Why I Chose Peoria
Peoria checked a lot of boxes for me: there was a large hospital with enough volume to know that I would have great training in both specialties, the med-peds presence is very strong, there are great global health opportunities, there are awesome advocacy groups that we can work with, cost of living is low but still relatively easy access to big city things, etc. Most of all, everybody on interview day seemed so genuine and happy, and the leadership approachable. It was one of the most humanized interviews I had of my season!
