Dr. Jeffrey Klopfenstein graduated first in his class from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. His undergraduate work was in microbiology.
Dr. Klopfenstein has received many awards and honors including the National Institutes of Health Summer Research Fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1995. He is also extensively published and has given numerous presentations. He served on the Curriculum Committee at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Klopfenstein is active in various professional associations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
He is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Chief, Brain Tumor Section at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP). He is on staff at all three Peoria hospitals.
Dr. Klopfenstein and his wife Candice have eight children. Family is number one priority in his life. He enjoys outdoor sports such as golfing and mountain bike riding.
