About

I am originally from an extremely small town in Alabama called Camden and have lived in Alabama my whole life until residency. In my spare time, I love to play fetch with my dogs, read, and cycle on my Peloton and also occasionally craft, dabble in photography, and play my piano when time allows. I especially love decorating for holidays (Christmas is my favorite!); there’s not a holiday I don’t decorate for. My faith is very important to me and I am extremely passionate about all things missions and global health. I have no idea what I want to do with my life anymore, but I am interested in infectious disease and hematology/oncology and would love to be able to do both hospital medicine and primary care, with teaching medical students and residents involved.

Why I Chose Peoria

I chose Peoria because I wanted to participate in the GRow Local track that is geared towards global, rural, and local health and community service; going somewhere where I could travel abroad to do mission work each year of residency (besides intern year of course) was really important to me. The opportunity to participate in this track, in addition to the amazing people I met on interview day and at the faculty meet and greet, solidified my decision to come here.
