About

Dr. Fisher studied biology and pre-medicine for his bachelor’s degree at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology from Washington University in St. Louis studying intracellular serotonin signaling cascades and their effects on amyloid beta production in Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Fisher held a post-doctoral research position at Wake Forest University in North Carolina where he used CRISPR-based modifications to study fruit fly metabolism. Dr. Fisher returned to his hometown in 2016 to teach Cell Biology and Histology in the integrated curriculum at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. He has extensive experience with educational video production.
