About

I was born in Murree, a small city in the Himalayan foothills of Pakistan. Growing up, my parents, who built a hospital to serve the local community, inspired my journey into medicine. My desire for continuous growth and excellence led me to the U.S and UICOMP for my residency. While I keep an open mind about my future career path, I have a particular interest in heart failure and look forward to letting my residency experience shape my goals further. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and being close to nature. I am particularly interested in interior design and love exploring new places through travel.

Why I Chose Peoria

I chose Peoria for my residency because it offers an ideal combination of a peaceful yet lively small-city life. Everything is conveniently within a short drive, without the hassle of traffic. Peoria's greenery, hills, and hiking trails reminded me of my hometown, making it more comfortable and familiar.

How has your residency program helped you grow toward your career goals?

University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria Internal Medicine Residency program has a well-structured curriculum, with wide exposure to multiple subspecialties. The program’s supportive culture and understanding faculty have created a comfortable learning environment, allowing me to grow both clinically and professionally. OSF St. Francis Hospital is a major referral center in central Illinois and has allowed me to manage a diverse and complex patient population, helping me towards my future goals.
