The Department of Health Sciences Education and Pathology was recognized as the Outstanding UICOMP Team Award Winner for December 2024.
The nominator stated, “HSEP serves as a cornerstone in the education of our medical students, providing them with a strong foundation within the curriculum that supports their development as future physicians. The unwavering commitment of HSEP faculty to academic excellence inspires students to excel. Additionally, HSEP fosters a strong sense of community by enhancing faculty-student relationships through cherished traditions like the soup potluck, Pie Day, and other community-focused events. This year, the department further demonstrated its commitment to student engagement and support by launching the Academic Faculty Advising program.
