Jan Kitajewski, PhD | Director of University of Illinois Cancer Center and Sweeney Basic Sciences Professor
Dr. Kitajewski is the Director of the University of Illinois Cancer Center and Head of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois Chicago. He was on the faculty at Columbia University for 24 years and joined University of Illinois Chicago in 2016. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His past leadership roles include President of North American Vascular Biology Organization, Co-Director of the Cancer Signaling Networks program at Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Charter Member for the NIH Cardiovascular Differentiation and Development study section. He has received funding from NIH (NIA, NIDDK, NHLBI, NCI, NIAID), ACS, AHA, DOD Breast Cancer Research Program.
