About
About me:
I received my PhD in nutritional sciences with a minor in statistics and completed my postdoctoral training in epidemiology at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). My academic training equipped me with a diverse skill set to develop and expand my research. My work broadly focuses on women’s health with a primary interest in maternal and reproductive health both the preconception period and pregnancy. My research has explored several topics including maternal blood pressure, placental health, menstrual cycle characteristics, early pregnancy outcomes such as miscarriage, reproductive hormones and birth outcomes. I have a particular interest in vitamin D and its role in fertility and pregnancy outcomes, as well as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, especially preeclampsia. I enjoy data-driven work and the application of epidemiological and advanced statistical methods including survival and time-to-event analysis, linear and logistic regression, quantile regression, generalized linear models, mixed-effects models, discrete-time models, and longitudinal data analysis. I enjoy working with large datasets to address questions of causal inference. In addition to my research, I’m passionate about research mentorship and enjoy mentoring medical students and residents.
