About

Chance Flemming is a Peoria-area native who began his college career at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. During his undergraduate studies, he interned at the Violence Prevention Research Lab and participated in multiple summer research programs focused on both qualitative and quantitative methods. Chance then moved to Chicago to pursue a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with research centered on economic disparities affecting disadvantaged communities. He has worked with several nonprofit organizations, including Feeding America, where he contributed to research efforts mapping disparities in hunger across the United States and evaluating grant-funded programs. Currently, Chance serves as an Office Manager in Research Services, where his role includes supporting research programs such as the James Scholar Program, assisting faculty with identifying and securing grant funding, and supporting research centers across campus.
