In recognition of Women in Medicine Month, UICOMP is recognizing PRISM, and the inaugural launch with a mentoring program for women at UICOMP.

Promoting Resilience, Influence Strength and Mentorship is a 9-month pilot mentorship and community-building program.  The launch of Cohort 1 includes 31 women from nine UICOMP departments who are organized into four mentorship groups.  Over the course of the combined virtual and in person curriculum, participants have focused on personal and professional growth while creating a community of peer mentors within UICOMP and Peoria. Interactive sessions include career mapping, personal branding, career and life navigation, conflict resolution and building career vitality. Through the sessions and mentorship, PRISM seeks to support each participant in their career trajectory and development while celebrating individual strengths and the variety of leadership styles.

Faculty from across campus facilitate the groups, help deliver and guide the curriculum while providing peer mentorship to each other and PRISM participants - developing a robust network for growth and support across campus.
