Goal
The student will work with Med-Peds physicians in Central Illinois. The student will participate in the practice of general Internal Medicine and Pediatrics outpatient.
Objectives
Upon completion of this elective, the student will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics to patients with common outpatient presentations.
- Describe how an office practice is run, including: office management and patient flow, triage, phone-call patient management, CPR procedure diagnosis and coding, and billing practices.
- Describe the role of a Med-Peds physician within primary healthcare.
- Standard Clinical 4wk Elective Evaluation - Honors/High Pass/Pass/Fail
