Application Approval Process Heading link

Applications should be submitted 60-90 days before the activity takes place (new activity or renewal). This ensures enough time to process the paperwork and to approve it before the activity takes place.

All applications (proposals) must undergo the standard CME application process. This means the CME Coordinator reviews the initial submission to prepare it for the committee to review, then the Peoria Committee on CME reviews the proposal, then the Executive Committee on CME reviews the proposal.  If any revisions are needed at any stage of this process, communication will be made back to the submitting parties accordingly prior to additional review and approval.

Application Guidelines Heading link

CME activity is classified as RSS (Regularly Scheduled Series) or Episodic.

RSS Activities are defined by the ACCME as a series of multiple sessions that occur weekly, monthly, or quarterly. RSS activities include Case Conferences, Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Morbidity & Mortality Rounds, Tumor Boards, or any other type of regularly scheduled educational meeting formatted with a consistent theme (e.g. patient safety rounds, research rounds).

Episodic Activities are defined by the ACCME as a live CME activity where learners participate in person, and usually planned as an individual event. Some courses are held multiple times with multiple audiences. Episodic Activities include: Courses, Enduring Material, Internet CME, Performance Improvement CME (PI-CME) and Learning Associated with Teaching (LAT).
