Dr. Awosika will be teaching Physiology course content in the Phase 1 curriculum and is looking forward to meeting M1 students as they begin Block 4.
Dr. Awosika earned his medical degree from All Saints University College of Medicine and completed residency training in Nigeria. He was most recently an Assistant Professor of Physiology and Pathophysiology for the American University of Antigua College of Medicine where he served as Course Director for Respiratory and Cardiovascular systems. Dr. Awosika has experience in team based learning, small group facilitation, didactic and case based lecture and discussion. A passionate medical educator, physician, and research fellow with accumulated years of experience integrating bench work and bedside evidence-based medicine.
He is an advocate for infusing several interactive active learning strategies into medical education, harnessing educational technology, and instructional design backed by sound pedagogic principles.
Dr. Awosika’s research interest focuses on chronic cardiometabolic, vascular, and pulmonary conditions, coupled with medical educational research. He looks forwarding to new collaborations and is open to learning new discoveries and skills.
