Interventional Radiology Clinical Services

The IR Division has half-day clinics every afternoon that are held in standard outpatient physician office space with support staff including nurses, MOAs, receptionist, and scheduling personnel.

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, we see patients with all types of arterial and venous disease at our Vascular Institute that has five examination rooms, on-site non-invasive vascular lab, integrated EMR, and a consultation room with PACS to review images with patients and their families.

One Tuesday per month

One Tuesday per month, an IR attending staffs an all-day vascular outreach clinic with similar facilities in two smaller hospitals 60 and 70 miles away.

Wednesdays and Fridays

On Wednesdays and Fridays, the IR Division sees our oncology patients at the OSF Saint Francis Outpatient Oncology Services Clinic that has three examination rooms, integrated EMR, and a consultation room with PACS to review images with patients and families. Support personnel staff at our oncology clinic is similar to staffing at the Vascular Institute.

Two Wednesdays per month

Two Wednesdays per month we have a vein clinic which is for all types of outpatient vein ablations, sclerotherapy, and phlebectomies.

In order to facilitate resident participation in the longitudinal care of patients, particularly oncology and vascular disease patients, the resident outpatient clinic rotations will be spread out over their entire two years at the rate of four half days per month. This will allow residents to see patients on whom they have performed procedures over time to experience outcomes in real life, witness disease natural history, and enjoy the bond between patient and treating physician. Residents will purposely be paired with all attendings to learn from each physician’s style and approach.
