Thomas Boyd

Thomas Boyd, MD

Chief Resident

Thomas Boyd was born and raised in Milford, a small town in central Illinois. He received his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In May, 2016, he received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rafal Szymczuk

Rafal Szymczuk, MD

Rafal Szymczuk was born in Poland and at 4 years old moved to Ottawa, Canada. At 16 years old, he enlisted in the Canadian Forces Navy as an engineer then a boatswain. He earned his BS in Psychology with a Minor in Philosophy and completed an honors project in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Ottawa where he met his now pediatrics resident wife, Vivian. Together, they earned their MD at UMHS St. Kitts. Raf enjoys weightlifting, humor, MMA, marksmanship and the humanities.

Shane Burke

Shane Burke, MD

Shane was born in Downers Grove, Illinois. He received his BS in Social Work from New York University and his MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. In his spare time, he enjoys running, skiing, scuba diving, watching reality TV and tries to run a half-marathon every year.

Alexandra Gens

Alexandra Gens, MD

Alexandra attended the University of Central Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Microbiology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. From there, she attended St. George’s University School of Medicine where she earned her MD. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, and playing with her new poodle puppy Sunny.

Shubhada Reddy

Shubhada Reddy, MD

Shubhada was born in Edison, New Jersey. She earned her BA in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her MD from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. Shubhada’s passions lie in drawing, cooking, playing with her dogs, and film.

Mark Schlotterback

Mark Schlotterback, MD

Mark was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Concordia College where he earned his BA in Biology. He then went on to complete his MD at the University of North Dakota. Mark and his wife, Makenzie, enjoy exercising, playing tennis, reading, cooking and taking care of their cats, Monte and Minnie.

Kevin Kilroy

Kevin Kilroy, MD

Kevin Kilroy was born in Red Bank, New Jersey, but has been living in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his BA in American Studies, with honors, at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and completed his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. Kevin is married to Nicole Mader and his interests lie in music, film, visual art history, photography, animals, and cooking.

Kamolika Roy

Kamolika Roy, MD

Kamolika Roy is from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. She attended Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts where she majored and earned her BS in both Neuroscience and Biology. She went on to Boston University School of Medicine, completing her thesis, and then on to St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada to complete her medical degree. Kamolika’s hobbies include live music, travel, visual art, yoga and postcolonial South Asian literature.

Jonathan Rubenstein

Jonathan Rubenstein, MD

Jonathan Rubenstein was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada but came to us from Brooklyn, New York. He attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec earning his Bachelor of the Arts degree in History. He completed his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. Jonathan’s interests include mountain climbing, hiking, basketball, and meditation. He is also a host for an NBA podcast.

Maranda Stokes

Maranda Stokes, MD

Maranda Stokes was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She attended Austin Peay State University in Clarkesville, Tennessee where she earned a BS in Biology. She went on to American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine to where she completed her medical degree. Maranda is married to Christopher Parchman and she enjoys hiking, traveling, taking care of her pets, and reading.

Samicchya Akhikari

Samicchya Adhikari, DO

Sami Adhikari was born in Kathmandu, Nepal and later in childhood moved to Rolling Meadows, IL. She earned her BS in Psychology at Loyola University Chicago. She then completed her MS in Biomedical Sciences at Kansas City University and subsequently completed her medical degree there as well. During medical school, she also concurrently completed an MBA in Healthcare Leadership through Kansas City University’s DO/MBA partnership program with Rockhurst University. Sami enjoys running, fitness, being outdoors, cooking and reading.

Ryan Meeder

Ryan Meeder, MD

Ryan Meeder was born in Palos Park, Illinois. He attended University of Miami, Coral Gables where he majored and earned a BS in both Marine Science and Biology. He went on to American University of the Caribbean, where he completed his medical degree. He enjoys traveling and tries to find time to take a trip with his college roommates every few years, their most recent escapades have taken them to Iceland and Japan.

Nicholas Rogers

Nicholas Rogers, DO

Nicholas Rogers was raised in Aurora, Illinois. He earned his BS in Biology from Olivet Nazarene University. After college, he worked in the flavor chemistry industry for 2 years. He then went back to school and earned his DO at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. Any of his free time is quickly filled up with his many hobbies including: gardening, hiking, muskellunge fishing, collecting retro video games, brewing beer and wine with his father and grandfather, contemplating the philosophical content of Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes, hanging out with his pet birds, and dancing with his fiancé Jamie.

Caleb Weiss, DO

Caleb Weiss, DO

Caleb is from Damiansville, Illinois. He completed his BA in Biology at Saint Louis University, and earned his DO from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his free time, Caleb enjoys playing video games, binging both television shows and films, trying new restaurants, keeping up with Saint Louis sports, and attending trivia nights.
