Clinical Experience

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria spans the entire spectrum of clinical settings, patient populations, and levels of service. Residents can be assured that every single clinical experience has been designed specifically for teaching purposes and has been built on the foundation of our shared educational mission. The following is a sample clinical schedule.

Year 1

• Internal Medicine – 3 months
• Family Medicine – 1 month
• Neurology – 2 months
• Depression & Anxiety and Acute Inpatient Psychiatry – 6 months

Year 2

• Addiction Psychiatry – 1 month
• Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry – 3 months
• Child and Adolescent Psychiatry – 2 months
• Geriatric, Community and General Inpatient Psychiatry – 5 months
• Selective – 1 month

Year 3

• Outpatient Clinic (includes Community, Forensic, Psychotherapy Medication and Subspecialty clinics) – 12 months

Year 4

• Electives and Outpatient Clinic – 12 months
