Salary and Benefits
2021-2022 Academic Year
Educational Allowance: Fellows receive an annual educational allowance of $1,200, which provides reimbursement for education-related purchases that have been pre-approved by the program director
Temporary Medical License: Fellows receive a reimbursement of $230 for fees paid to a obtain a temporary medical license
Vacations: Fellows receive three (3) weeks of Paid Time Off per year, i.e., 15 week days and 6 weekend days per year
Meals: While on duty, fellows are provided with meals at the SFMC Main Cafeteria
Parking: Parking in designated areas is provided to fellows at no charge
YMCA Privileges: Membership in the Peoria YMCA is provided as a benefit to fellows, their spouses, and children
Professional Leave: Fellows receive a maximum of seven (7) days off per year to attend professional meetings approved by the program director
Family and Medical Leave of Absence: Fellows who have been employed by OSF for at least one year and who have a qualifying event may take a maximum of twelve (12) weeks of family/medical leave in a twelve (12) month period. Qualifying events include the birth of a child, and to care for a child; the placement of a child for adoption or foster care; the need to care for a seriously ill child, spouse, or parent; or a serious health condition that prevents the employee from performing the functions of the job.
Sick Leave (Sick Protection Hours): TL-4 fellows receive a total of 120 hours (15 days) of sick protection hours. TL-5 and above fellows receive a total of 160 hours (20) days of sick protection hours. *Per Sick Leave policy
Bereavement Leave: Fellows may receive three (3) days of bereavement leave for the death of a parent, step-parent, or parent in-law, sibling, step-sibling, spouse, or child.
Professional Liability, Medical/Dental, Disability, Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurances are all provided and available to the fellows. Please refer to the house staff manual for further comprehensive details.
