The Department of Pediatrics, at the Univ of IL, College of Medicine, located in a mid-size metropolitan area, is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics/Physician Surgeon to assist the department with the following responsibilities: Under direction & supervision, teach, train, & advise medical students, residents, & fellows in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology. Provide clinical patient care to a diverse patient population in a medically underserved area in the hospital & outpatient clinics. Assist department with the development of medical curriculum specializing in Pediatric Gastroenterology, conduct medical science research, publish & present research findings, & perform administrative duties & University service as assigned. Requires a MD degree or its foreign equivalent & 6 yrs of training (3 yrs of Pediatric residency training & 3 yrs of Pediatric Gastroenterology training), a valid IL medical license or eligibility for an IL license, & board certification or eligibility for certification in Pediatrics & Pediatric Gastroenterology. Some travel may be periodically required for conferences, professional development, or local travel between worksite address.
