Training sites and facilities
We are affiliated with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Carle Health Methodist. Residents spend most of their time in OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, a tertiary medical center. The rest of their time is spent at Carle, depending on service requirements.

Specialties
Our residents spend time in general obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology including ART (advanced reproductive technologies), and urogynecology. Residents are also assigned a panel of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Continuity Clinic that they follow throughout their four years of training.

Residents train medical students
OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is a major site for the clinical training of third and fourth year medical students of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. The OB/GYN residents play a major role in the supervision and training of these students.

Research
Research is an integral part of training of residents, and is required for graduation from the residency program. There are many opportunities to participate in research activities in the department. The University of Illinois College of Medicine holds a combined research day for all residents to present their research.

Applicants are selected on the basis of their ability, academic credentials, communication skills, motivation and integrity. We do not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability or veteran status.
Our program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications are only accepted through ERAS. Our program number is 2201611096. We also participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
We accept four candidates each year. Prospective candidates’ applications are reviewed, and those who meet our criteria are invited for an interview. Candidates who are not invited for an interview will be notified of their application status, either declined or placed on a waiting list for future interview slots.

If you graduate from a medical school in the U.S., you must include the following:
- Completed application
- Dean’s Letter (MSPE)
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE or COMLEX scores (Step 1 and Step 2)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation including a Chairman’s letter
- Personal Statement
- Curriculum vitae
- A current photo ID
Keep the following in mind
If you graduated from a medical school outside the U.S., you must include the following:
- Completed application
- A letter from the Dean of the medical school
- A medical school transcript which shows actual grades
- USMLE or COMLEX scores (Step 1 and Step 2)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation including a Chairman’s letter
- Personal Statement
- Curriculum Vitae
- Current ECFMG certification
- A current photo ID
- All IMGs must have completed a clerkship in Psychiatry at least 4 weeks in duration
Deadline details
The deadline for submitting applications with supporting documents is December 31, although we encourage applicants to complete their applications in the early fall. Selected applicants will receive email notifications regarding interview selection.
What to expect
An interview is necessary for full consideration of your application. Interviews are conducted from October through January. Your interview may be virtual.
