We know that residency is hard! Emotionally, physically, spiritually – WE CARE ABOUT YOU. As a part of our training program, your well-being is of utmost importance to not only to our program administration, but to our Institution as well.
GME sponsored wellness activities
All Resident Outing – occurs every August. All residents are excused from duty at noon to participate in golf, swimming, or Wildlife Prairie Park activities. This event is sponsored by Graduate Medical Education.
Chiefs Ballgame – OSF Physician Recruiting sponsors a Night out at the Ball Park featuring our minor league team, the Peoria Chiefs. Lots of free food, drinks, and just family fun at the ballpark.
Holiday Blocks – All residents are gifted a minimum 4 days off over either the Christmas or New Years holidays!
Illinois Neurological Institute and OSF Physician Recruitment sponsored Wellness Days
These days occur on the 5th Thursday of the month in place of didactics (approx. 4 times/year). Just like a normal conference days, attendings and APN’s cover the inpatient services so the residents can enjoy some well deserved time off. These afternoons focus around FUN, teambuilding, and relaxation! Past activities have included painting classes, swimming, cookouts, escape rooms, go-carting, and bowling just to name a few.
