Emergency Medicine Residency
The UICOMP Emergency Medicine Residency Program based at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria is a well-established training program that has had continuous, full ACGME-accredited for the past 31 years. This is a three-year residency program with 12 residents in each class.
We continue to have tremendous success training exceptional well-rounded emergency physicians who are prepared to enter clinical practice, academic positions, or fellowship training programs. In addition to excellent general emergency medicine training, broader experiences include aeromedicine, observational medicine, community hospital rotations and electives such as tactical emergency medicine and international medicine.
We also instruct our residents on evidence based medicine, research, team-resource management, patient quality and safety, process improvement, and life-long learning. In the past two years our faculty and residents have authored 29 peer-reviewed journal publications, received 5 research grants, and had numerous regional and national presentations.
The program exists in a learning environment that stresses education and compassionate patient care with a faculty that is energetic, enthusiastic and supportive.
