Department Chair

Dr. Joshua Kentosh became Chair of Dermatology for the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria in 2018.

Dr. Kentosh did his internship at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and his dermatology residency at Walter Reed. He served in the United States Navy for ten years with a final rank of Lieutenant Commander, Medical Corps. Dr. Kentosh is currently a practicing dermatologist at Soderstrom Dermatology in Peoria.

Dr. Joshua Kentosh is board certified in Dermatology and currently practices at Soderstrom Skin Institute. Originally from Ohio, Dr. Kentosh attended Indiana Wesleyan University, graduating with honors. He completed medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed internships and residency during with the military. In addition to his medical practice, he is active in teaching and research.

He has authored numerous publications in dermatology journals and has presented at several regional and national conferences. His research interests include amputation residual limb dermatoses, hyperhidrosis and amputee wound care.

Dr. Kentosh is enthusiastic about teaching and looks forward to working with our faculty to deliver dermatologic education in our new curriculum and to mentor students with an interest in dermatology.
