The Rose Award
The Rose Award created and named in honor of Rose Bacon honors those employees who truly embody the type of person that Rose was. No matter what was happening, fellow employees always found a cheery, positive person in Rose. She made quite an impression on many of us. One employee stated:
“She was the first UICOMP employee I met on my way to HR for an interview. She pointed me in the right direction and wished me luck. I remember thinking how friendly she was and what a nice place this would be to work. As I came to know Rose I found that she was always upbeat – even when dealing with life’s ups and downs and then ultimately while battling her disease. I don’t recall ever hearing her make a negative remark about anyone or anything.”
Employees nominated for this award should have a positive attitude, courage in the midst of adversity, humility, friendliness, shows selflessness, and works to spread cheer and warmth in his or her workday.
