Dr. Schmidt received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Illinois in May 2001. He did his a Transitional year residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002. He completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 2006 at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Illinois. Dr. Schmidt was Chief Resident in Diagnostic Radiology from July 2005 to June 2006. He completed a one year Breast Imaging Fellowship, July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 at the Susan G. Komen Breast Center in Peoria, Illinois. Dr. Schmidt is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. In 2010 the Radiology Residents awarded him the “Faculty of the Year Teaching Award”.
Dr. Schmidt is certified by the American Board of Radiology. He holds memberships in the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Breast Imaging, Illinois State Medical Society, and Peoria Medical Society.
