Dr. Golemon was born in Greenfield, Illinois, the second of five daughters born to Dr. James Reid, a “front-line” rural family physician. She graduated summa cum laude from Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois, with a BA in biology. Dr. Golemon received her MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria where she was the president of the Family Medicine Interest Group and finished residency training in family medicine at Methodist Medical Center of Illinois where she was the recipient of the Resident Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Golemon has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and covers her local high school’s football team with residents interested in game coverage. Dr. Golemon is presently working part time precepting and teaching the sports medicine lecture for the ortho/sports medicine rotations. She has recently taken courses with the Institute of Functional Medicine and is excited to bring that aspect to her precepting.
She is married to Dr. Thomas Golemon, and they live in the country outside of Brimfield, IL. They are enjoying traveling now that they have all adult children. She also enjoys golf, watching sports, remodeling her home and reading.
