Biographical Info

Craig Griebel was born in Mankato, Minn., and grew up in small towns in Minnesota and in Nigeria. (His parents were missionaries.) He graduated from high school in Bemidji, Minn., and went to college at Valparaiso University in Indiana. (Go Crusaders!)

He went to medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia and did residency at the Mercy/St. Luke’s (now Quad Cities Genesis) Family Medicine Residency in Davenport, Iowa.

Dr. Griebel practiced for 10 years in Wisconsin (seven years of full spectrum family medicine and three years of urgent care). He joined the family medicine residency faculty in 2002. Dr. Griebel’s special interests within family medicine are OB and pediatrics.

He and his wife, Cheryl, and have three children (Tyler, Christopher and Emily). He enjoys hiking and travel.

My favorite part of being a faculty member is seeing residents grow in their medical care skills, leadership skills and interpersonal skills during their three years of residency.
