About Our Program

The OSF Saint Francis/UICOMP, Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME accredited 3-year program that provides a well-rounded training to fellows. The fellowship has been a great success since its inception in 2013 with proud alumni in well positioned jobs across the nation.

With 629 Licensed beds OSF St. Francis is the level I trauma center of the region. It serves as the regional hub for 14 acute care facilities scattered across Illinois. Due to its unique location, it serves a large catchment area and a population base of nearly 1.2 million people with an excellent case load.

Our Goals

  • to provide robust clinical training in all areas of cardiovascular disease
  • to provide exposure to a wide range of clinical research
  • to do so in a collegial, collaborative and respectful environment which fosters outstanding work ethic, professionalism and lifelong learning

Our program encourages individual interests and needs, especially in the second and third years of training, when specific career planning is started. Fellows have typically been able to tailor more rotations in the subspeciality electives to match their interests.
