Matt is an M.D. candidate in the Class of 2020 with interest in general surgery and trauma/critical care. He studied Biology at Grinnell College and worked as a clinical research biostatistician at Northwestern University prior to enrollment at UICOM. As Peoria Medical Student Council President, he led organizational and constitutional revisions to better address student needs and bolster camaraderie. He provides peer mentorship to fellow medical students as a Peer Advocate and assists high school students with human anatomy, dissection, and college and career advice through Training Tomorrow’s Physicians Today. Within OSF Healthcare Data Analytics, he helped build a business case to optimize patient throughput at the network’s flagship hospital, OSF St. Francis Medical Center. In his spare time, he advocates for environmentally and financially sustainable development patterns.
