Cancer Research

Cancer research at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria

Current research focuses on a variety of cancers – brain (glioblastoma, medulloblastoma, meningioma and neuroblastoma), pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, and leukemia.  Within the Cancer Research Center, scientists are exploring the invasive characteristics of malignant tumor cells that infiltrate normal tissue and cause the tumor to recur.   Multi-faceted alternative strategies have been developed with a focus on gene therapy.
