HealthCheck Self-Survey/Building Access Process
The campus transitioned to a web-based screening system, called HealthCheck self-survey, for daily wellness and temperature monitoring. This process integrates with the University’s building access control system and allows us to follow UIC protocols, monitor the online screenings, and regulate facility access. University identification cards (iCard) will now be required to enter the building. We will be following a two-prong approach to building access: onsite employee procedures and/or offsite clinical faculty and staff procedures. Please make sure to allow extra time when entering the building.
Onsite Faculty, Staff and Students (1 Illini Drive) Procedures
Offsite Clinical Faculty and Staff (PHS, Psychiatry, UnityPoint and/or OSF):
For our offsite clinical faculty and staff, we are well aware that most must go through a daily hospital/ambulatory checkpoint which complies with the campus screening requirements (but there is no data throughput to feed into the campus platform). To acknowledge this, we have placed all of the faculty with physician appointments and the clinical staff in hospital/ambulatory based departments on an “exemption” list. This is so we will not inadvertently disable their iCard access. However, when entering the building at 1 Illini Drive you are still asked to complete the survey by checking the box that says “I attest I have already been cleared today to work at UIC through an in-person/on-site temperature & wellness screening at the Hospital or other approved clinical site.”
Note: Implementation grace period has been extended to Nov. 2.
