Outpatient Services
The Outpatient Psychiatry Services at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria offer evaluation and treatment of the broad range of psychiatric disorders as well as other difficulties in living. Our clinicians have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide assortment of adult, children and adolescent behavioral conditions with particular emphasis on anxiety disorders, mood disorders, childhood anxiety disorders, sexual dysfunction, and behavioral problems associated with mental retardation. We also provide counseling and therapeutic services for those struggling with the demands of everyday life.
Treatment approaches and evaluations offered include pharmocotherapy; cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal and psychodynamic-informed psychotherapy; phototherapy; podiatry; electroconvulsive therapy and forensic evaluations. The department prides itself in not only teaching state-of-art, evidence-based treatment approches to our students and residents, but also offering them to our patients and clients.
Psychiatry, psychology and social work represent the fields in our mutlidisciplinary faculty which includes board certified physicians in the areas of general adult and forensic psychiatry as well as internal medicine. Licensed clinical psychologists and licensed clinical social workers are also represented.
Located in the Methodist Medical Center’s Hospital building, our outpatient services are able to access the partial and inpatient hospitalization programs at Methodist Medical Center to help provide a continuum of care.
