Comprehensive Inpatient Care
The Inpatient Psychiatry Service at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria offers evaluation and treatment of the broad range of psychiatric disorders. Our inpatient units emphasize a multidisciplinary approach, which integrates services provided psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, social workers and case managers to deliver exceptional patient care. Located on the sixth and eights floors of Methodist Medical Center, the 44-bed Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Units and 20-bed Child and Adolescent Unit provide secure, modern and comfortable environments for patients and families. Our treatment programs are structured to maintain the safety, dignity and confidentiality of every patient. For UICOMP students and residents, the Inpatient Psychiatry Service serves as the cornerstone for their exposure to psychiatric medicine. Teaching and supervision on the inpatient units is provided by University of Illinois faculty psychiatrists. The clinical experience encompasses acute and chronic psychiatric care, with an eventual goal of transition to our partial hospitalization program or the outpatient setting.
